Preparing for your Pest treatment

Thank you for choosing Redback Pest Management for your upcoming pest control treatment. We appreciate your trust and want to ensure you get the best possible results. To help us achieve a thorough and effective treatment, please follow the preparation and aftercare steps outlined below.

Before Our Arrival

To maximize the effectiveness of the treatment, please complete the following:

Clean Your Home Thoroughly – After the treatment, you should avoid mopping, sweeping, or vacuuming for at least a week, so it’s best to start with a clean space. A clutter-free environment also allows the treatment to reach more areas, increasing its success.

Remove or Relocate Pets – If possible, take all pets off the premises. If that’s not an option, confine them to an unaffected area. Keep them away for at least an hour after treatment to ensure their safety.

Remove Pet Bowls & Bedding – Food and water bowls should be washed and put back out no sooner than an hour after treatment to prevent contamination.

Remove Birds and Small Pets – Birds and small animals can be sensitive to treatments, so please relocate them temporarily.

Cover Fish Tanks & Pumps – Securely cover aquariums and turn off pumps if possible to prevent any airborne chemicals from affecting aquatic life.

Vacate the Premises – All household members, including children, should leave the house for at least one hour after treatment. This ensures safety while the treatment settles.

Vacuum Carpeted Areas – This removes dust and debris, allowing better penetration of the treatment, especially for flea and tick control.

Mow Lawns (If Flea & Tick Treatment is Included) – Short grass helps ensure the treatment reaches the soil where fleas and ticks reside.

Secure Food & Personal Items – Store food in sealed containers and cover or remove personal items like toothbrushes to avoid exposure.

After Treatment Care

To allow the treatment to work effectively, follow these guidelines:

Do Not Clean for One Week – Avoid sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming for seven days to allow the treatment to fully take effect. Cleaning too soon may remove the product before it has a chance to work.

Keep Pets Out for One Hour – After treatment, wait at least an hour before allowing pets back inside to avoid exposure to wet surfaces.

Wash & Replace Pet Bowls After Two Hours – This ensures that no residual chemicals come into contact with your pet’s food or water.

Dispose of Food Waste & Empty Bins Regularly – Leaving food out or overflowing trash cans can attract pests, undoing the effectiveness of the treatment.

Monitor Pest Activity – It’s common to see some pests moving around after treatment. This is a sign the treatment is working, as pests are affected by the product and will gradually die off over the next week or two.

Remove Spider Webs After One Week – Once the treatment has had time to work, vacuum up any spider webs and dispose of vacuum contents outside immediately.

Following these steps will ensure a smooth and highly effective pest control treatment. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
